Kisumu All Stars fans will have to wait longer for the team’s first victory in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) this season after a disappointing outing against visitors Nzoia Sugar at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Saturday.
The KPL newbies were beaten 2-0 by Nzoia Sugar with the Bungoma County based Sugar millers getting on the score sheet in the 6th and 50th minute respectively.
Before the match, Kisumu All Stars Head Coach Henry Omino had promised fans that they were going for nothing short of a win.
“Fans should continue supporting us. They should not look at the past. We lost the first match and got a draw in the second which means we are going for a win against Nzoia,” Omino told Hivisasa.
The Kisumu County sponsored side is now ranked 17th out of the 18-teams table after three matches.
Otenga as the team is popularly known has one point out of a possible nine after losing 0-2 against Ulinzi Stars last month, before grinding out a 0-0 draw against KCB in the second match.
Omino’s charges next face Western Stima at the Moi Stadium on September 28, in what has been christened Mboka derby.
The veteran Coach will be coming up against his former side.
