Mochache while speaking on Friday when she graced a prize-giving ceremony at Nyaura Primary school in Nyaribari Chache constituency, Kisii County said the region risks having uneducated girls in the future.

"The rate at which girls below 18 years are becoming pregnant is high. Mothers are not talking to the young girls on the dangers of engaging in sexual intercourse at a tender age. I urge women to wake up and talk with their daughters on the need to shun rushing into love matters before they even complete school," she said.

She further challenged teachers across all primary schools in the county to be at the forefront to ensure young girls are counselled properly on love matters to reduce the number of girls engaging in love affairs at a tender age.

"Young girls are dropping out of school early because they are impregnated with men. The lives of our young girls will be ruined and in the near future, we will not have educated women in society," she protested.

Mochache urged local administrators not to condone men chasing young girls for sex adding that such men belong to jail.
