In what could be a sign of his unending loyalty with Raila Odinga, billionaire businessman Jimmy Wanjigi on Thursday joined ODM members for unveiling of new headquarters.
ODM unveiled Sh180 million headquarters at Lavington area, not far from the former Orange House in Kilimani.
Mr Wanjigi was pictured sited with Raila Odinga's eldest daughter Rosemary Odinga, who is currently recovering from blindness.
Having parted with President Uhuru Kenyatta moments to 2017 polls, Wanjigi joined Mr Odinga's camp and has since worked closely with him.
In a past interview, Wanjigi conceded that President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto agreed to jointly run after holding a meeting in his house.
“I want to tell President Uhuru Kenyatta that you know this home very well. You have had meals here with my family several times. The current government was formed in this very house,” Wanjigi was quoted by the Standard after police descended on his house in 2017.
After the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila, Wanjigi seems to have been a beneficiary.
In April this year, the state dropped charges against him of being found in possession of illegal guns moments to 2017 polls.
“The High Court substantively quashed the charge sheet and the summons. The files will be closed unless the ODPP appeals the ruling,” Magistrate Wendy Kagendo ruled as quoted by Nation.
When President Uhuru Kenyatta visited Raila's home in Bondo last year, Wanjigi was among the few people who was allowed in.
Despite not participating in active politics, Wanjigi is one of businessmen who closely works with top politicians.
He's one of Raila's close advisor at the moment.
