Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has now come out to criticise devolution claiming it has been a burden to Kenyans.
On Sunday, he expressed his dissatisfaction on his Facebook page where claimed that it has been a scheme to turn a few individuals to billionaires at the expense of poor Kenyans.
He has claimed that Kenyans have had a habit of supporting things without thinking through citing that there are Kenyans dying of hunger in Turkana yet the county receives the lion's share of funds by the county government.
"Kenyans have a tendency of supporting things without thinking through. I HATE DEVOLUTION. It is our collective stupidity of transforming 47 men and women into Billionaires," scoffed Kuria.
"We give them between 4 and 20 Billion every year without controls. The highest recipient of this stupidity is Turkana County- 12 Billion in Division of Revenue and close to 10 Billion in Equalisation Funds. Yet people are dying of hunger and thirst. Devolution is the worst curse we brought ourselves as a nation," further read his post.
A number of Kenyans on social media have concurred with his remarks with others claim that devolution isn't to blame but those mandated to secure people's interest.
