Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has shot at Wiper politicians for failing to endorse Kalonzo Musyoka's 2022 presidential bid.
Muthama said leaders from the Ukambani region are silent about 2022 succession politics.
He said the silence is a mistake that could deny the Wiper leader the chance to lead Kenya.
"Every community now is endorsing their people and our leaders are silent as if they don't know what direction to take. Surprisingly, even Kalonzo himself is silent. He's not sure whether he will vie or not," Muthama said.
He spoke at a burial ceremony in Kangundo sub-county on Wednesday.
Muthama said he used to traverse the country conducting political meetings and rallies to dram support for when he was in leadership as the Machakos senator.
"Kamba leaders are heard in Ukambani saying that they have decided it's Kalonzo in 2022 but they haven't dared to cross to other communities and win them over. How do they expect Kalonzo to win? Leadership is not given, it's taken," Muthama said.
He gave the former Vice President's foot soldiers an ultimatum of fourteen days to get into action and start selling Kalonzo's name for 2022 presidency.
Muthama said the Wiper leader is the best-suited candidate for the position.
"I knew Kalonzo when he was wearing a big shirt than him but I saw a good leader who would make Kenya great. Since then, I have stood by him and so should our leaders. They should get into action," he said.
