The officers also rescued the 15-year-old girl in question, who is said to have undergone the ordeal for a week.

Led by Kanyach Kachar Location Chief Bernard Omuga, the officers from Marindi Police Post stormed a rental house at Pala Trading Center where the crime took place.

The chief said that he called in the police after receiving reports from neighbours of some suspicious activities.

The three who were arrested are Kevin Ouma, his brother Tyson Onyango who is a bodaboda rider and their mother Mary Achieng.

The administrator said that the neighbours notified him that the two men were seen taking turns in entering the house at different times, while the door remained closed.

He added that investigations indicated that the two men abducted the girl on her way back from school and led her to the house.

“The student hails from Ratanga in Ndhiwa where she travelled from. Upon reaching Rodi Kopany Township, she alighted from the car she had boarded and took a motorcycle ridden by Tyson Onyango to school,” said Omuga.

The chief said that Onyango allegedly changed directions and took her to his home where he took her Sh5,000 and gave it to their mother.

According to the girl, the rape chain also included more men who remain at large. Achieng was nabbed with Sh2,000, suspected to be part of the money taken from the victim.

“Upon interrogation, we established the girl was defiled by more than two men. She said the men took turns defiling her," added the administrator.

The brothers underwent tests at the Homa Bay County Referral Hospital and then detained at the Homa Bay Police Station.
