Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has scheduled November 7th for the elections. Over 118,000 residents are eligible to vote.

But even after protests by a section of Karen residents over 'huge delegations' at Ruto's home, the DP on Wednesday hosted members of ADC church.

"Joined the DP & other leaders as the Kibra ADC faithfuls prayed for Mariga," former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale confirmed.

Karen residents had raised issues about their safety. Present during the Wednesday meeting were MPs Dan Wanyama and Major (Rtd) John Waluke.

On Sunday, Ruto insisted that Jubilee goverment will work closely with Mariga if elected to complete projects stalled in Kibra.

"We will start [working on] stalled projects immediately after the elections on November 7," he said. "We will work with all hustlers to change the face of Kibra."

Mariga will face Imran Okoth of ODM, Eliud Owalo of Amani National Congress, Eng Ramadhan Khamisi of Ford Kenya among others.

Luhya leaders are expected to hold a mega rally for Mariga at Bhukhungu grounds on Thursday according to Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.

"On Thursday we will hold a major meeting with Luhya people. There will be a huge declaration at Bhukhungu grounds," Barasa said.
