This he said in line with the ongoing probe on Mombasa Principal Magistrate Edgar Kagoni who is being accused of mishandling exhibit, including heroin worth Sh30 million.

However, according to the High Court advocate, this is just another of the DPP's attempts to appear scary to the judicial system, which he said might backfire on him soon.

"The DPP is harassing the judicial system so that judges can fear him. But one day he will be in the same dock and and will beg to be released on bail," he said.

He made the remarks on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation on Wednesday morning, where he noted that the judge is being unfairly victimized.

He observed that unless he is found to have sold the exhibit and pocketed the money then there is no grounds to have him arrested as was done last Friday, September 7.

"Unless he is found to have sold the exhibit and pocketed the money he should not be harassed. Things need to change in this country," he added.

The magistrate is also being accused of making away with Sh600,000 which are said to have been proceeds of the drug dealing case in question.
