A section of activists in Garissa has call on the security agents in the county to speed up in arresting attackers behind the recent  terror incidents in the North Eastern region.

While addressing the media after a peaceful procession in Garissa town, the activists led by Mwalimu Salah Yusuf condemned the recent terror attacks terming them as uncalled and cowardly

“We are urging the security agents to purse the suspects even if it means crossing the borders to the war torn Somalia, the safe haven for the Al-Shabaab terror cells,” Yusuf said.

He also said that it's high time for the human rights organizations and locals to step in the area and support the government in fighting the terrorist who have scaled the attack in the region since last year. 

He also asked the specialized security agents to operate within the confine law and fight the terrorist in the region. 

“In the fight against terror, there have been extra judicial killings, disappearances as well as destruction of properties. We urge the government to fight terror using the law,” Yusuf said.

The activist also revealed that they are planning to educate locals to work hand in hand with the government security agencies to fight terrorism in the county as terror attack affects every sectors in the region 

“We have decided as civil societies, members of the public and the government agencies to come together and work in the fight against terror. We will support all initiatives in getting rid of these criminals,” he said.

Their procession in the streets comes after the Al-shabaab militia attacked Kamuthe and Saretho boarding primary schools where 3 Kamuthe non-local teachers and 4  Saretho boarding primary pupils were killed during the attack.
