Tanzanian songstress Nandy has addressed claims that she is pregnant.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen's Mambo Mseto show whose video clip was uploaded on YouTube, Tuesday, the singer said she was not pregnant.
She noted that people had mistaken her for being pregnant after she added some weight. She nonetheles pointed out that she was working to see she sheds off the extra weight.
"This is how it was, I had gone to popularize a song in a Tanzanian radio station. And the dress which I was wearing was showing that I had a slightly big stomach. So people began saying I am pregnant. To be honest I have gained weight. And therefore it is hard for people to see why I gained weight so fast. Why Nandy has changed and seems to have a slightly protruding stomach. Yes, I have a slightly big stomach but it is because of my eating habits, I am however working on it. (Ilikuwa hivi, nilikuwa nimeenda kutambulisha nyimbo Tanzania kwenye kituo cha redio. And then nguo niliyo kuwa nimevaa ikawa inannionyesha kidogo kama nina kitambi. So watu wakaanza kusema pale huyu ana mimba. Ki ukweli kidogo nime gain weight. Kwa hivyo ni ngumu sana mtu kuona mbona imekuwa so fast. Mbona kama Nandy kabadilika, alafu mbona kama ana kitambi. Ninacho kidogo kwa sababu ya kula, nakifanyia kazi," Nandy stated during the interview.
The clarification comes just a few days after the musician confessed that she had experienced a miscarriage sometime back after taking medication.
Nandy is a well known Tanzanian musician who enjoys a huge fan base in Kenya where she has worked with various top artists such as Willy Paul.
She recently released a collabo featuring Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol.
