Mudavadi on Tuesday bashed Raila for being a political burden, terming him the man who has been Kenya's biggest political headache.

He shot back at the former Prime Minister who recently accused him of being a political burden, saying that the remark actually refers to him (Raila).

In a statement read by ANC Secretary General Barrack Muluka, the ANC party leader said that Raila has no right to brand anyone a burden, especially after seeking help to retain the Kibra seat.

"It is ironic that a person who is totally incapable of travelling even the shortest distance on his own political fuel in Kibra should accuse anybody else of being "a political burden," he said.

This was in reference to Raila's decision to seek endorsement from other politicians and governments to secure a seat in a region that has been branded his " bedroom".

He further threatened to sue the Orange Democratic Party for refusing to share political party find with fellow National Super Alliance (NASA) member parties, terming him an ungrateful man.

According to Mudavadi, a former Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, Raila's actions indicate that he us ungrateful for the support ANC gave him in his 2017 presidential bid.

However, ODM shot back, with Raila, through his Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, terming Mudavadi in thankful after carrying him on his back since 2002.

He said that the leader is behaving like a jilted lover, and now needs to man up and shun outbursts.

"This outburst must be seen in the context of a jilted lover, a parasite abandoned by its long-suffering host. Musalia is easily the biggest baggage our party leader has had to carry since 2002. Now that Raila has taken away that support, Musalia needs to be a man," said Sifuna.

The rivalry between the two has been worsened by their battle in Kibra, where each has fielded a candidate to run for the seat, which has been ODM's since its establishment in 2010.
