Nominated MP David Ole Sankok has claimed that the handshake has brought Jubilee and opposition leaders on board thereby making it hard for resources to trickle down to the taxpayers.
In an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Sankok said that the handshake has made Kenyans worse off.
He noted that the politicians now need salaries and allowances after the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
“The handshake has brought everyone on board and all of them now require allowances and salaries. Politicians are more than the public and that is the reason money is not trickling down to the common “mwananchi”, he said.
On sports matters, Sankok said that the government needs to put in more effort to ensure its nurtures talents.
He said that it is saddening that most of the athletes often sponsor themselves to different competitions and leaders only celebrate their wins yet we have a government in place.
"The way the Kenyan Government supports sports in the country is not up to standard, those who prosper in sports in Kenya do it using individual efforts,” he said.
