Led by former Machakos deputy governorship aspirant Peter Mathuki, the leaders said Muthama should follow the party's decisions or leave, if he feels unsatisfied.

"Wiper party is a democratic party, what we can tell Muthama is that he either toes the line or leaves the party, you're either in or out," said Mathuki.

He said the party was done pleading with Muthama , and he should follow the party's decision if indeed he is a member.

"We have a candidate in 2022 which is Kalonzo Musyoka. What we discussed and agreed is that you can't be president without the support of central Kenya that's why we joined forces with the person who holds the votes from that region," said Mathuki.

Mathuki's sentiments were supported by Kitui Senator Enock Wambua, who said it is obvious Muthama has no idea of what was discussed during the meeting at Yatta on Monday.

The leaders addressed journalists in Machakos on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, Muthama said Kalonzo was not serious about leadership, arguing that it was the reason why he had chosen to stay in Uhuru's camp after 2022.
