Have you ever visited and spent a night at a lodging in Nairobi or any other city?
If you have, then, you will notice that the number of these guests lodges have increased particularly in Kenya's capital, Nairobi. They are frequented by thousands of people daily.
Visiting Nairobi city, you will spot these guest houses in every corner advertising their services.
While the majority of people in the city visit these guest's houses for different reasons, there are those who do annoying things that cause discomfort to others while using these rooms.
Such include:
1. Stealing toiletries
Some people have a tendency of stealing toiletries while in guesthouses. Such people often stuff tissue papers, bathing towels and soap into their bags before leaving the guesthouses.
2. Stealing slippers
Some people steal bathing slippers or sandals in guest rooms. This has forced guest house owners to devise ways of curbing stealing.
In many city guest rooms nowadays owners provide slippers of different colours for example one blue and the other one red in colour to curb theft.
3. Stealing TV remotes
Some people visit guest houses with an aim of stealing electronics especially TV accessories. Such people stuff the remotes into their bags and leave the rooms as like nothing happened.
4. Using towels to wipe dirty shoes
Some people use towels given to them in guest rooms to wipe their dirty shoes. This behaviour is disgusting.
5. Self-pleasure
"We see strange things and clients daily and in many cases, we stumble on semen while cleaning the sinks and bathrooms," Geoffrey Mutuku, a cleaner in a guest house in the city says.
6. Spitting on the sinks
Some people knowingly spit on the sinks and fail to flush it away which is unhygienic.
7. Leaving used condoms on floor
Some people leave used condoms and pregnancy pills on the floors of guests rooms. It is always proper to dispose used condoms properly to avoid causing discomfort to others visiting the guest rooms.
