City tycoon Paul Kobia has backed Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's style of leadership that has elicited criticism from a section of Nairobi residents.
Kobia insisted that Governor Sonko's instant action is the best way to fight cartels that have threatened to 'destroy' Nairobi. He said Sonko knows well about the people who grab land from residents with fake court orders
"I doubt if there is any other person who is capable of Governor Sonko's leadership in Nairobi. There are very many grabbers. That's why you see he is dealing with the grabbers. He knows them and where they are and its only Sonko who can do that," Kobia said when he was hosted by the Banana Peddler.
He further lauded Sonko for telling President Uhuru Kenyatta directly to compensate the people living on the land where SGR passes through before destroying their houses.
"If you call Sonko even if he is in the office, he will respond immediately. He does not go to court or stuff like that. You heard him at Kasarani, he talked of the houses that have been destroyed because of SGR project, he told the president to compensate those people first before destroying their residences," he added.
Kobia observed that Sonko has set a good track record in service delivery within the city, especially in helping youths.
