Renowned socio-political commentator Michael Agwanda has claimed that the ruling Jubilee party contracted someone to draft the manifesto that Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto used in their quest for power.
Even more devastating, Michael Agwanda made the claim that the party did not believe in the policies that were captured in the campaign document.
Mr Agwanda pointed at the stalled laptop project for school-going children that the party promised to roll out upon assuming the reins of power.
"Jubilee Party contracted someone to write their manifesto. Somebody wrote it somewhere and it was brought into this country, its not even something they believed in, " Agwanda said.
The political analyst made the damning claims on Tuesday when he appeared in a wide-ranging television panel discussion on Kenya Television Network (KTN).
He went on to say that the Jubilee government had pretty much struggled to fulfill the 'high-sounding' raft of pledges that it made to the Kenyan electorate in its quest for power.
In previous interviews with the Kenyan press, President Kenyatta has rejected claims that his government has not followed through the promises that his campaign made.
He has cited the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and the rural electrification programme as the biggest achievements of his administration.
