Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh is arguably the biggest Kikuyu language musician. His voice has the most recognisable voice among other celebrated Kikuyu secular musicians. In his life, away from the glaring cameras and the hype, he has a woman he calls his wife who keeps him grounded.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with renowned K24 Television news presenter Betty Kyalo on the 'Upclose' program, the hugely successful musician revealed how he met his wife.
Samidoh Muchoki met his wife Edith when he was still in high school. Edith transferred to the school he was in and the chemistry between the two was ignited.
"She actually transferred and came to the school when she was in form 3 and I was in form 4 then (Alitransfer actually akakuja akiwa form 3 mimi nikiwa form 4), " Samidoh said.
He was at first afraid to approach her but soon overcame his fear and made the first move. The Kikuyu artiste says that the feeling was mutual, he could tell that Edith liked him too.
"I was brought up without a sister so approaching a girl and greeting her was a problem but I greeted her I saw that the feeling was mutual (Nimelelewa bila sister so hata kuapproach msichana ni msalimie ilikuwa shida lakini vile nilimsalimia nikaona nikama pia yeye alikuwa anataka), " Samidoh added.
Edith says that her husband is a caring man while Samidoh says simply that she is a good woman.
