On Saturday, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa attacked Matiang’i after he declared that he is only answerable to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Nduati asked the leaders allied to the DP to watch their tongues, arguing that they are making remarks which are likely to jeopardise the legacy of President Kenyatta before the completion of his second and final term in office.

The lawmaker said he knows the DP very well, adding that he is certain he cannot engage in such kind of politics. He reminded Ruto's camp to respect the appointees of the president for the sake of economic empowerment of the people.

“I am asking Ruto not to be drawn into meetings in which leaders insult others because we know him as a leader who is humble and a Christian,” said Nduati.

He also said that it is the duty of the president and his deputy to work together for the unity of the country, adding that the leaders allied to DP Ruto need to change their ways.
