Appearance of former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka in DCJ Philomena Mwilu's defense excited Kenyans on Wednesday.
Mr. Musyoka, despite being an advocate of High Court, has spent most of his career in government or business.
When he made submissions, a section of Nyamira residents could not hold their joy seeing a former high ranking state officer in court as someone's lawyer.
"Kalonzo now doing what he has not done for many years. This is exciting," said Dennis Onyiego in Kitutu Masaba Forum.
On his part, Baba Juma said: "It takes courage for such a high ranking former official to do what he did. That's a plus for us."
The former VP joined politics once he completed his studies and unlike his peers, he landed government job thus little appearance in courts.
Mrs. Mwilu's case has elicited sharp public debate with a section of his lawyers dismissing claims that she's in an oppostion sympathizer.
"This is our job and as lawyers, we are entitled to represent clients of our choice," said Nyamira Senator Okong'o Mogeni.
Most of her defense team politically leans towards Raila Odinga's ODM party.
