Villagers of Mwamokong’u village, Mwamosioma sub-location in Mosocho, Kisii County were left in a rude shock after a man cursed his first wife and died mysteriously.
Locals said the deceased, Kefah Obwocha cursed his wife, Edinah saying she will not have peace in her entire life.
“Obwocha married Edinah in 2000 and they had 4 kids together. In 2010 he married a second wife, Rose Kemunto who he has been living with after Edinah kicked him out of her house,” said Peter Mbaye.
Mr Mbaye said Obwocha fell ill and before he was taken to hospital he said Edinah should not step at his graveyard and if she does she will die.
An elder in the area, Ambrose Mose said such incidents are common.
“Obwocha died while receiving treatment at Bosongo hospital after suffering a stroke. The curses he left behind should not be taken lightly. The family must adhere to his will and Edinah should keep off the funeral to avoid a calamity from falling on her,” said the elder.
Bartholomew Achachi, area assistant chief said the burial of the deceased will be done at the homestead of the second wife as by the deceased will.
He urged residents to respect the dead.
