Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria wants terror convicts executed in public.
Through a Facebook post on Wednesday, while recalling the death of 147 people killed during the 2015 Garissa University attack, the MP recalled that one of the victims was from Gatundu South.
Kuria now wants a death sentence for those convicted terrorists rather than ordinary Kenyans charged with robbery with violence.
"Among the 147 angels who were killed during the Garissa University terrorist attack is our Jojo from Gatundu South. Today 3 suspects were found guilty of the 147 senseless murders.
"Sadly unlike ordinary Kenyans charged with violent robbery who would have faced the death penalty, the terrorist scums will get a maximum of a life sentence, thanks to lopsided anti-terrorist laws," reads Moses Kuria's post.
The firebrand legislator has promised to initiate an amendment bill such that convicted terrorist will be sentenced to death and public execution.
"I will be initiating an amendment to send convicted terrorists to hell through the death penalty and public execution at Uhuru Park," went on Kuria.
Moses Kuria's sentiments come after Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi found Mohamed Abdikar, Hassan Edin Hassan and Hassan Rashid Mberesero guilty of 156 terror charges regarding the 2015 Garissa University terrorist attack.
"I am satisfied that the accused persons were members of Al- Shaabab and they knew of the plot and were also part of the attackers,” he ruled.
The three convicts will be sentenced on July 3.
