Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has predicted doom for Deputy President William Ruto and his 2022 presidential dreams.
Speaking on JKL show on Wednesday evening, Atwoli argued that despite all his experience, Ruto might end up not making it to Statehouse after the elections.
He noted that the DP lacks a proper advisory team which can help him handle important issues, adding that his current team is failing him.
He further argued that the DP will with time continue making 'blunders' which will cost him, the ultimate cost being his terrible loss in the polls.
"Ruto is a shrewd and experienced politician but that might not help him because he lacks proper advise," said Atwoli.
He cited the ongoing bitter exchange between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto's ally Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi.
He warned that this might lead to retaliation from the President who he said no longer needs anyone in his second and last term.
"When you have your allies daring the president, then you are in the wrong direction," said Atwoli.
Ruto has remained silent as Sudi accuses Uhuru of being unfair in his ongoing war on corruption. Sudi has termed the graft war a political witch hunt.
