Soy MP Caleb Kositany has castigated the organizers of Wednesday Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) launching function for entertaining unnecessary political contentions in a matter considered to be serious.
In a tweet, Kositany argued that the organizers either did not accord the function the decorum it deserves at the planning stage or they were clueless on what modalities to follow in order to make it successful.
The lawmaker who is also a close ally to deputy president William Ruto further claimed that the planners of the event turned the function into an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party political bickering avenue.
"The organizers of yesterday's event failed or maybe had no clue how important the function was. They turned the event into a childish ODM PG," read part of the tweet.
During the unveiling of the report at Bomas of Kenya, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed who was also the master of ceremony engaged in an altercation with Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen over the manner in which the event was organized.
Junet started by advising Murkomen not to discuss any issues related to Jubilee at the podium since function did not provide a platform to address Jubilee party grievances.
The sentiments did not go down well with Murkomen who, amidst heckling, told off Junet and reminded the attendees of the need to allow dissenting opinions in order to shape unity and harmony which the report sought to address.
