Mt Kenya region voters owe Deputy President William Ruto having supported President Uhuru Kenyatta twice, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara has said.
Dr Ruto backed Uhuru in 2013 and 2017 but the pair seems to have gone separate ways if divisions within Jubilee is anything to go by.
But Kihara on Thursday insisted that Mt Kenya region has not abandoned the covenant with DP William Ruto, adding that such an eventuality does not exist.
"Come what may, we are Christians and we agreed 10 for Uhuru and 10 for Ruto. We have not heard the break of Uhuruto. If it has, then bring evidence," she said as quoted in a tweet by Daily Nation.
"We cannot cheat him (Ruto) having helped us. We formed Jubilee administration in Nakuru. When Nakuru decides, just know it's a reflection of the entire country. We are not abandoning our initial position," she added.
On Thursday, Ruto insisted that winning the presidency is not a matter of life and death, adding that he wants to see a peaceful country.
"I don’t want Kenyans to fight because of me. I don’t want this country to take the route where people lose lives because of any politician. That is how serious I am and I want to promise you, kupata kiti, kukosa kiti, ifanyike ile itafanyika we want peace in this nation," he said as quoted by the Star.
