The leaders discussed the future of BBI report and the mode that they will prefer on the implementation, just a few days after it was unveiled.

At Mt Breeze Hotel in Embu, Kiunjuri spearheaded the meeting, with those attending viewed to be pro-DP William Ruto group from Mt Kenya.

CS Kiunjuri's participation in politics is contrary to President Uhuru Kenyatta's January directive where he banned CSs from politicking.

"Those who have chosen to keep politicking instead of serving the people should be ready to give way," President Kenyatta had said as quoted by Nation.

But the firebrand minister has often insisted that divisions in the Mt Kenya region would impede development agenda.

"If the leaders are divided, the region will lag behind in development," Kiunjuri had said.

Embu Senator Njeru Ndwiga, who was the host of the MPs, said they will strike a consensus after the meeting later on Saturday evening.

"We shall look into the report and after some hours we promise that there will be white smoke,” said Ndiwga.

The leaders are divided on whether to subject Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report recommendations to a referendum of parliament for adoption.
