President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto won the 2017 general elections in a free and fair manner, the party’s secretary-general, Raphael Tuju has insisted.

In an interview with Daily Nation, Tuju dismissed claims that Uhuru and Ruto sought the assistance of Cambridge Analytica to win the election.

Tuju affirmed that the win of the President has nothing to do with the firm as alleged. He said the party has nothing to apologise as far as the winner of the election is concerned.

“Most serious campaigns hire consultants and experts to bridge capacity gaps that they may have. We have nothing to apologise for,” he said on Wednesday, as quoted by Daily Nation.

Cambridge Analytica has been on the spot for allegedly assisting President Kenyatta to retain his seat.

The former managing director, Mr. Mark Turnbull, has claimed that the company was tasked with the rebranding and writing of the Manifesto of Jubilee, which enabled President Uhuru to trounce ODM Leader Raila Odinga.

Undercover Channel 4 News had exposed Cambridge Analytica after the bosses boasted on how they used dirty tricks to influence the results of elections not only in Kenya but also the entire world.

Tuju reiterated that it is common for consultants to boast whenever they win an election after an active role.
