Senate Minority Leader James Orengo has narrated how he was dumped by the police outside former Kisumu Town legislator Grace Onyango's gate.
Speaking when he paid the 91-year-old legislator on Sunday, the Siaya senator said he'd pleaded with them to take him to Onyango's home instead of dumping him at a local market.
“They wanted to leave me at the market but I told them 'you can’t leave me here ... I am very sick'. I asked them to take me 'where Grace lives',” he said to laughter.
Mr. Orengo was one of the deadly young legislators opposed to retired President Daniel Moi's regime.
At one point, he was labelled 'Seven Bearded Sisters' by former Attorney General Charles Njonjo due to his rebellious nature.
“I wondered how they knew me. I thought they would arrest me but I realised they knew me,” she said.
He was in the company of Raila Odinga and several lawmakers from Nyanza region.
Mrs. Onyango, the first Kenyan woman to be elected to parliament, was recently honoured by President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House.
