Four people reportedly died in the incident.

Apart from mourning the people who died trapped inside the car, Kenyans launched their complaints against various stakeholders who they believe were sleeping on their jobs.

A good number of them were not impressed by the fact that there were no emergency teams on the ferry to conduct a rescue mission when the tragedy happened.

They argued that it was a normal safety procedure for a ferry to have divers in case of emergencies.

They, therefore, called for action to be taken against the officials in charge of ferry management.

Kenyans on Twitter blamed area leaders including Mombasa leaders led by Hassan Joho saying they, too, play a part in ensuring the safety of commuters on the ferry citing that devolution was geared towards bringing these services closer to the people.
