Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday recovered more than 130 stolen televisions and other items from a residential house in Mbiuni, Machakos.
In a series of tweets, the detectives revealed that the items were stolen from Athi River. The officers also arrested two people after the crackdown on the suspects of the robbery.
"OVER 130 Flat Screen TVs among other assorted Electronics which were on 1st Dec 2019 Stolen from a Godown in Athi River were today recovered at a Residential Hse in Mbiuni area of Machakos in a resolute operation by @DCI_Kenya Detectives based at DCI HQs," DCI said.
The DCI also revealed that the detectives have launched a manhunt for other people believed to be part of the criminal gang. The sleuths have also recovered a vehicle from the scene of crime following the manhunt.
"Two suspects were also arrested. Forensic Intelligence led the detectives to Kitengela where the Lorry which was used to ferry the over Sh15M worth of SYINEX TVs during the robbery had been hidden. Further investigations led the Team to the House at Machakos County where the said part of the robbed items were recovered & tallied. Suspects being processed for arraignment; M/Vehicle detained, and search for other accomplices & the remaining part of the robbed items continues."
