In a Facebook post, the outspoken legislator demanded that the affected students be added on the graduation list.

Mr Owino, who is the Chairman (Emeritus) of the Kenya Union of Students’ Organizations came out calling on the Vice-Chancellor of Moi University Prof Isaac Kosgey to resign over this issue.

"I demand that the Vice-Chancellor of Moi University Prof Isaac Kosgey takes responsibility for this unprecedented failure and tenders his resignation with immediate effect," he demanded.

He claimed that the 700 will not graduate due to administration issues.

More so, he called on university senate, led by their Chancellor Hon Miriam Were to start an investigation on why so may students can fail to graduate.

The MP gave the university 7 days to resolve this matter or else he will forward them to the Speaker to summon them before the Education Committee.

The university's Public Relations Officer Patricia Cherambos revealed that the students had not been included in the graduation list due to missing marks and huge fee balances.

She argued them to settle their issues with the university and wait to graduate in the December graduation as it is too late to be added on the list now.

“We want to urge them to prepare for the December graduation, let them sort their issues early and they will eventually graduate,” she said as quoted by Citizen.
