Canadian-based Kenyan barrister Miguna Miguna has cast off speculations that Nyanza region is reaping big from the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Miguna has claimed that Nyanza region is still leading in terms of high child mortality rates, poverty and dilapidated infrastructure despite Raila's dalliance with the President.
The firebrand lawyer said that Nyanza has nothing much to show for the handshake save for billboards of Uhuru and Raila "selling illusions and hoaxes."
"Can the people eat billboards and Raila's red carpets? Nyanza still leads in unemployment, child mortality, poverty, food insecurity and dilapidated infrastructure," he wrote on his Facebook page.
"Raila Odinga zombies keep shouting about "Nyanza reaps big with handshake," yet we have only seen huge billboards of Raila and Uhuru selling us illusions and hoaxes," he added.
He spoke as Raila jetted out of the country to accompany President Kenyatta in negotiating for another loan with the Chinese government for the extension of the SGR to Kisumu.
This move has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans who are asking the former Prime Minister why he changed tune on matters Chinese loans.
