In a tweet, DCI said that the information is untrue and ill-intended. This is after Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru demanded an apology from the singer over the lyrics of the song.

The DCI also warned the singer against spreading false information over the summon of the singer moments after he alleged that he was on his way to their offices.

"We wish to condemn strongly false information being peddled through social media to the effect that one Kennedy Ombima @RabbitTheKing has been summoned. Nobody from @DCI_Kenya has summoned him| @bonifacemwangi |@citizentvkenya," he said.

"Anybody wishing for publicity should be warned to desist from using the @DCI_Kenya as a platform in seeking media attention, DCI added.

Taking to both Instagram and Twitter he posted that he had been summoned to appear before the CID.

"I have just been summoned by The CID" posted Kaka on Twitter.

Activist Boniface Mwangi had claimed that he had spoken to the singer after he was allegedly summoned.

"I have spoken to @RabbitTheKing and he informs me that @DCI_Kenya have summoned him. His friends, fellow artists, and Kenyans of goodwill are joining him at DCI Headquarters, Kiambu Road, at 12 pm. If you're able to join us, see you there. #IstandWithKingKaka #WaiguruSuesKingKaka" posted Mwangi.
