This comes two weeks after the MCAs ordered the reinstatement of the Early Childhood Development tutors, whose contracts have since expired.

After receiving a non committal response from the excuse, the members on Wednesday issued an impeachment notice, threatening to begin collecting signatures for the purpose.

They also warned that they will not vet names of the governor's new nominees for chief government positions.

"As long as the Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers have not been reinstated, the vetting of the nominees for posts of chief officers stands suspended and that collection and verification of signatures for the impeachment of Nyamira County Governor is to commence in the Assembly due to failure to resolve the issue of the tutors," the letter read in part, as was seen by the Standard.

In response, the county boss said that the matter is being handled with the caution it deserves, while adding that he has not received the said impeachment notice.

"Why should we hurry processes? We know that there were serious irregularities during the hiring of the instructors and that is why we are taking caution to verify every other person we shall hire," he said.

On her side, Education Executive Gladys Momanyi said that the matter has been left to he handled by the governor's office.
