The third edition of the Africa Voice Achievers Award will be held at Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi on August 16.
Several influential persons across the continent are expected to be feted for their contribution to society during the award gala.
Among those to be feted include; Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris and Deputy Director in charge of State branding and events Thomas Kwaka alias Big Ted.
Passaris is set to receive the Africa Community Figure Award.
“Each year people from various walks of life nominate individuals who they deem fit to be recognised for their contributions towards the advancement of Africa,” said Rev. Ambassador Elvis Iruh who runs the Netherlands-based Voice Magazine and founder of the award as quoted by Standard.
Nairobi Chamber Chorus' Ken Wakia, who is set to receive the African Image Maker Award did not hide his joy when reached by the local daily.
“I am really humbled and privileged that choral music is being recognised at this level and that people have been following what we are doing and recognising it. I thank all my mentors, teachers and singers that have accorded me the opportunity to do what I do," he said.
Other notable personalities set to be feted include; African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Raila Odinga, who will be honoured with the Icon of Democracy Award, Uganda's Opposition leader Kizza Besigye, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana among others.
