Detectives from the office of the Director of Criminal Investigations on Thursday recovered two stolen. The vehicles were impounded at the Wanguru-Kirinyaga after the detectives launched a manhunt for the suspected gang.

The police arrest one suspect pending investigations into the matter. The suspect, who has since been identified as Anthony Munene Ndambiri is currently behind bars as detectives dig deeper into the incident after the recovery of  a Toyota Probox and a Fielder.

"Two stolen Motor Vehicles were today recovered at Wanguru-Kirinyaga by @DCI_KenyaFlying Squad Detectives in an ongoing Crackdown following rampant cases of Robberies and Motor Vehicle theft in Nairobi County. One suspect; Anthony Munene Ndambiri arrested & placed in custody," DCI said.

The DCI revealed that the arrest comes at two weeks since the theft was reported. He thanked the members of the public for their cooperation, which led to the arrest of the suspect. 

He also urged the public to continue supporting the police in crime-related matters as they seek to end cases of theft in different parts of the country. 

“The operation that kicked off two weeks ago saw the recovery of a Toyota Probox and a Fielder. Suspect helping in further investigations. The #DCI makes grateful acknowledgement to the members of public for sharing information with Detectives in their endeavour to fight crime," he tweeted.
