Two dead bodies were on Friday night found abandoned inside a car along Nairobi's Southern Bypass in what the police believe was an encounter with armed criminals.
The incident left another person nursing serious injuries where all victims were found with bullet wounds suspected to have been inflicted by the gunmen.
The two dead men were driving in the same vehicle, a Toyota Fielder which was found riddled with bullet holes while the survivor was in a separate vehicle.
He was found inside his vehicle in a thicket some 500 metres away from the first incident, aboard his Toyota Premio car.
The police also found several number plates in his car trunk.
Police reports quoted by the Standard indicate that the incident might have happened at 10.40 pm when officers on patrol heard some gunshots.
The dead persons did not have any identification documents on them.
The survivor, who escaped with bullet wounds in the stomach and chest is at the Kenyatta National Hospital receiving health attention.
