Peter Karanja, a suspect in Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen's murder was on Tuesday freed on a Sh2 million bail or an alternative Sh4 million bond.
Karanja appeared before Judge Daniel Ogembo before he was freed on various conditions.
He was ordered not to go anywhere near Cohen's home, with the judge also barring him from contacting any witnesses in the ongoing case.
Karanja, who is a businessman and the estranged husband to Gilgil MP Martha Wangari was also directed to leave his travel documents at the court.
Mr Karanja was arrested on September 13 and charged on October 11 where he denied colluding with Cohen's widow, Sarah Wairimu, in killing the billionaire.
Karanja's release comes weeks after Sarah was released by Justice Stella Mutuku on a Sh2 million bail after the prosecution failed to convince the court why she should be kept in custody.
Sarah was also released on conditions similar to those given to Peter Karanja.
The case will be mentioned on November 11, 2019.
The body of Cohen was found in a septic tank at his home in Nairobi's Kitisuru estate on September13, 2019. The body was recovered over 40 days after the billionaire had been reported missing.
