Wildlife Principal Secretary Susan Koech was dropped from the Cabinet when President Uhuru Kenyatta reorganised his government on Friday.
Her docket was taken over by Prof Fred K Segor who was moved from State Department for Irrigation.
The head of state did not disclose why he sacked the PS who had only served in his government for a period of one and a half years.
However, it can be speculated Koech was dropped over her alleged role in the Arror and Kimwarer dams Sh63 billion scandal.
Her sacking comes barely two months after President Kenyatta sent home Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich as his PS Kamau Thugge over the multi-billion saga.
Koech alongside her Cabinet colleagues were arrested in July and charged for graft but they denied the allegations and were released on cash bails.
Koech is accused of writing a letter to Thugge asking him to release an advance payment of Sh3.5 billion Koech to CMC di Ravenna, the contractor at the middle of the dams saga. She was then serving as PS for the East African Community (EAC).
“The purpose of this letter is to forward relevant documents as submitted by Kerio Valley Development Authority to facilitate the advance payment of USD 33, 663,324.59 equivalent to Ksh 3, 485, 500, 628.04,” Koech wrote.
The technocrat is an alumnus of Moi University, School of Business, with a PhD, MBA and BBM to her name.
She was the Nairobi Regional Head for Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Limited before President Kenyatta appointed her as EAC PS in March 2018.
