Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has accosted his National Assembly colleague Junet Mohamed after terming the last two Buildings Bridges Initiative (BBI) meetings as successful.

Junet, the MP for Suna East and National Assembly Minority Whip, said the Kisii and Kakamega regional BBI rallies were outstanding, claiming that that was the reason allies of Deputy President William Ruto decided to become involved.

"Having held two successful BBI meetings in Kisii and Kakamega during which Tanga Tanga MPs berated us with wasting taxpayers money, we are pleasantly surprised with their new change of heart," he tweeted.

In a rejoinder on Wednesday, Ngunjiri wondered how successful the rallies were when citizens have not been issued with printed scripts of BBI report to read.

He noted most of those who attended the functions were not aware of the contents of the report and, therefore, it was ironical for Junet to claim the sensitization rallies were successful.

"Successful how? Junet Mohamed what were you discussing there, the people don't have documents to read. Honestly, seriously, what would you discuss with people who don't even know what is in BBI. I wish you even had screens to project! Are you being fair to Kenyans really?" the vocal Jubilee legislator posed.

Allies of the DP led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday announced they will be attending the rest of BBI rallies, starting with the next one which will be held in Mombasa on Saturday.

On Wednesday, Junet, accompanied by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and MPs Kanini Kega (Kieni) and Fatuma Gedi (Wajir), welcomed them and called for decorum and respect for all the participants.

"I have today welcomed our colleagues from Tanga Tanga to Mombasa BBI meeting. We hope that they are coming with clean hands, and ready to join us in the hard task of building a more cohesive nation," he said.
