Mudavadi has said the residents have nicknamed the DP as 'huyo ni hotel' which loosely translates to 'he is a hotel'.

According to the former Vice President, Ruto has been using his official home as campaign ground for Jubilee candidate in the coming Kibra by-elections, former footballer MacDonald Mariga, where money is being dished out to voters, making voters brand the DP as a 'hotel'.

“When people in Kibra say ‘huyo ni hoteli’ (he is a hotel), what does that tell you? It means Jubilee is pouring money against IEBC rules,” Mudavadi said as quoted by the Star.

The ANC party leader has also called for DP Ruto to be investigated for using public property for his own gains which are against election rules.

He also challenged the DP who is Jubilee deputy party leader to consider using taxpayers money for empowering the citizens.

“He [Ruto] should use government resources to ensure Kenyans get value for their taxes. This will help people access good health, education, infrastructure, and other services,” said Mudavadi.

Kibra residents are set for a by-election on November 7th.

The seat was declared vacant after the death of former MP Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer.
