Embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has affirmed that his county is working normally.
Through a Facebook post on Wednesday, Sonko also noted that there is no leadership crisis in Nairobi as alleged by some individuals.
According to the county boss who was recently barred by the court from accessing his office following graft charges he is facing, Nairobi County accounts are active.
There have been reports in a section of media that the capital's county accounts had been frozen over Sonko's graft case.
"I beg to differ with those tarnishing the good name of the National Government and I wish to report to the general public in a very transparent way that the National Government, through Treasury, has disbursed Kshs. 3B being our capital share allocation from the exchequer for the months of November and December and by close of business yesterday," Mike Sonko noted in part of his post.
"The county had already started the processing of salaries to our staff and also managed to pay the last instalment of monies Nairobi County owed to KRA, hence becoming the first county to clear with KRA," he added.
Sonko was arrested and released on cash bail over graft allegations.
He is currently barred from accessing his office pending hearing and determination of his case.
There have been concerns over a possible leadership crisis at City Hall due to the fact that Sonko had no deputy.
