Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho was on Saturday 'forced' to pin Elgeyo Marakwet County senator-cum Senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen to the wall over his stand on Building Bridge Initiatives (BBI) referendum
Just after Murkomen had been handed the microphone to air out his views at the BBI rally that was held today at Mama Ngina waterfall, Joho was heard instructing the vocal senator to focus his speech on BBI and pick if he was for a referendum or not
"Governor Joho alias 001, who is also my friend (Mheshimiwa Joho ambaye ni 001 na rafiki wangu)," Murkomen started off.
However, before he could proceed with his speech, Joho interjected his speech and asked the Senator to stay on BBI referendum.
"Referendum or no referendum?," Joho posed a question to Murkomen, who then settled on the referendum.
The Senate majority leader went ahead and declared that the country should hold a referendum to have the Prime Minister position with its two deputies created.
"Since Uhuru, Moses Kuria and Waiguru who are our brothers from the other region have now accepted the formation of Prime Minister position, there is nothing to hinder Kenya from having a prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and other leaders. It's a must we go to a referendum so that Kenyans can give themselves leaders that can join them together," Murkomen said.
