Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has urged Kisii leaders to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Maangi while speaking when he condoled with the family and friends of the late David Ombogo Michieka, husband to Nominated MCA Mary Goima and brother to Prof. Ratemo Michieka in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency on Friday said the BBI will ensure inclusive in matters governance.

"I want to urge leaders across Kisii county irrespective of their political parties to throw there support behind the BBI for the purpose of ensuring peaceful governance. We do not desire to have violence again going forward," he noted. 

Maangi insisted that he will continue working with all leaders without discrimination to discharge his duties as a Deputy Governor.  

According to Maangi, it is too early for Kisii leaders to start debating on who should be the next Governor of Kisii given that elections are far away.

"Let us not dwell so much on 2022 succession politics at the county level. I urge every leader to focus on development since 2022 the electorates will rate us depending on what we could have done," he stated.
