Kuria and his colleagues were protesting the arrest of Starehe MP Charles Kanyi, popularly known as Jaguar before they were tear-gassed by police.

Jaguar was arrested on Wednesday outside Parliament, for allegedly making xenophobic remarks.

Appearing on Citizen TV's JKL Show on Wednesday night, Murkomen claimed that it seems Kuria had really missed teargas.

“The greatest achievement of handshake is the peaceful political environment in the country; the end of protests, except the one for Moses Kuria today and the teargas. You know the way Moses Kuria was really ‘sipping’ that teargas, it looked like someone who had really missed this thing of teargas,” said the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator.

There has been a calm political environment in the country since the much publicized handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta, and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on March 09, 2018.

Since then, the handshake has received support and resistance in equal measure across the country, with a section of politicians aligned to Deputy President William Ruto claiming that it may end up costing the DP’s bid for State house in 2022.
