Wife of the allegedly missing Dutch tycoon Sarah Wairimu Kamotho Cohen has disowned reports that his husband was wealthy.
Responding to the Daily Nation newspaper published on 9th August 2019 titled ‘Love, divorce and missing golf tycoon’, Mrs Sarah says they are not near any one of richest families in Kenya.
According to Mrs Sarah, they struggled with her husband Tob, 69, to make their lives comfortable. Tob disappeared two months ago from their home where Sarah says he boarded a car she doesn't know about.
"When I met Tob, he had 15,000 guilders to his name. He was not the stereotypical wealthy ‘mzungu ‘ man, despite often bragging to be a hugely wealthy individual." Sarah Kemotho said through a family blog.
Furthermore, Sarah blamed the author of the story, John Kamau on the same and his husband's legal advisors. She, therefore, called upon those who know more about their wealth to provide evidence and concrete proofs on the same.
"I pray for the safe return of Tob. If you’re reading this, Tob, please get in touch with me or someone in the family as soon as you can. Your disappearance has caused more hurt than you can ever imagine. Come home, and let us deal with whatever the issues might be." She added
This comes barely days after Sarah was nabbed by Director of Criminal Investigations(DCI) detectives in their home, Nairobi. She has been in custody since then as investigations continue to determine whether she is involved in Tob's disappearance.
Her arrest was reportedly triggered by a recent phone conversation with his missing husband. Coen was last seen at Westlands, Nairobi.
