The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) Uasin Gishu Secretary General Elijah Maiyo now wants the Ministry of Education to construct one National Boys school in the county.
He said it's sad that despite Uasin Gishu being among the best performing schools in the Country it does not have a Boys National School.
“It’s sad that despite us being given Cheptiret Boys to be our Boys National schools but up to now nothing has been done. We are calling on the Ministry of education to construct an ultra-modern boys school in the County,” Maiyo.
Maiyo who spoke to the press at Racecourse Secondary school on Friday called on education stakeholders to work around the clock to ensure that they have a boy’s school.
“We are really sad when we hear that we are the only county among the 47 counties without a boy’s school yet we have the heavyweights,” added the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers Uasin Gishu Secretary-General.
He further condemned the heinous killing of Ndooni primary school teacher saying that stern actions should be taken against the killers.
He noted that for a child to perform well there must be concerted efforts between parents, teachers, and students for a person to perform well.
