Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni has praised his Embakasi East counterpart Paul Ongili popularly known as Babu Owino, saying that he is a decent man outside the eyes of the public.
Speaking in an interview at K24 TV on Wednesday, Jeremiah Kioni said that Babu Owino is a very respectful man.
"Babu Owino, outside the public eye, is a very decent young man, who is very respectful and I really feel for him to have gotten where he is," he said, according to a tweet by K24tv.
The lawmaker revealed that the problem with occupying a public office is that one is no longer considered as an ordinary mwananchi.
"When you are in office, your life is not ordinary (kawaida) like when you are not in office, because you are occupying an office that many are interested in," he said.
Babu Owino is in police custody following his arrest in relation to a shooting incidence involving DJ Evolve at B-club on Friday last week.
When Babu Owino was presented at Kilimani court on Monday, he was accused of attempted murder, a charge he denied.
The court directed that he be remanded for 7 more days pending a ruling on his bail application.
