He says this will allow for more funds to be channelled to the counties.

Speaking in Moiben on Sunday after opening our Lady of Fatima Moiben Catholic Church,  Mandago said that it's sad that some ministries are getting a huge budget yet they are devolved.

“As Council of Governors, we want the money held by ministries which are devolved to be taken to the counties. The ministries of Health and Agriculture, for example, have a lot of financial allocations yet they are both fully devolved,” said Mandago.

He reiterated that when the money comes to county governments, it funds projects meant to benefit Kenyans at the grassroots.

“When the said ministries funds are channelled to county governments, we will have more than Sh335 billion which we want the Treasury to give us,” added the Uasin Gishu Governor.

Mandago called on the Members of Parliament to let resource allocation follow devolved functions in the counties.

The Uasin Gishu Governor further noted that the delay in allocation of funds to county government has paralyzed all the activities thus poor service delivery to wananchi.
