Political analyst Gerald Bitok has accused the Jubilee government of failing to serve Kenyans and lead the nation to prosperity, as it promised before coming to power in 2013.
Speaking on Radio Jambo on Wednesday, Bitok observed that Kenyans are in even more trouble, thanks to the financial constraints which is now openly playing out in the Treasury.
He observed that the government has failed to prevent theft of funds and block graft loopholes, leading to a lot of money getting lost and bringing out an image of a broke country.
Bitok also noted that the government has failed and appears unaware that it was among others, elected to safeguard public monies and push Kenyans to success, 7 years later.
"Jubilee is still unaware of why it is in government. The government is not broke, only disorganized, there are lots of leakages of finances. (Jubilee haijajua inafanya nini serikalini hadi sasa. Serikali haiko broke, iko disorganized. There is a lot of leakage ya pesa," he said on Wednesday night.
The political analyst further said that President Uhuru Kenyatta would have done a good job had he followed in the footsteps of his predecessor Mwai Kibaki.
He stated that Kibaki took over an almost stalling country from his predecessor Daniel Moi, who had left it in a worse economic situation but still managed to revive the economy.
But he also blamed the situation on the absence of a serious opposition wing, saying that this has made it possible for the government to operate without being questioned.
"The problem is that we don't have an opposition, the opposition has been consumed by the government. (Shida ni eti hakuna opposition, opposition iko ndani ya serikali)," he added.
This was an apparent reference to the 2018 truce which has united President Uhuru and his former critic ODM leader Raila Odinga.
