In a video shared by Lemiso Sato Emmanuel on his Facebook page, Mandago noted that the BBI team did not take the views of leaders from the county regarding the issue of constitutional amendment.

"Nimesikia wabunge hapa wakiongea mambo ya kerekibisha katiba.....mambo ya BBI, mambo ya Punguza Mizigo (I have heard the lawmakers here speaking about constitutional changes..... the issues concerning BBI and Punguza Mizigo). Wale watu wa BBI hawakuchukua maoni ya viongozi wa county 27.(BBI taskforce never collected views from leaders hailing from county 27). County number 27, we were never consulted, let it go on record," he said.

On her part, Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei said "the BBI team was taking Kenyans for a ride".

"Those people who are undertaking the BBI process is taking Kenyans for a ride and we are not fools. The Kenyan Constitution making process in 2010 was the most consultative constitution making process in the entire world, and therefore even if you were to say that you want to re look at the constitution, then let us go back to the national archives there is an audio tape of the discussions by the local wananchi from every location in Kenya.

"Kenyans said exactly what was wrong with that constitution we know what were contentious issues and what was not contentious. If you want to re look at the constitution let us go back to the archives, do not pretend to go across the country and meeting in 5-star hotels telling us you want to review the constitution, we are not to be taken for fools, " she said.

The BBI team was created by President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in March 2018, after their handshake.
